Tillandsia (Latin: Tillandsia) are epiphytes, i.e. plants that have been shaped by nature so that they do not need soil to live. They inhabit the branches of trees and feed on what the air and rainfall provide, as they have no roots at all. They absorb water and food through their leaves and usually grow slowly, although in nature they can reach truly impressive sizes. Many species create elaborate, hanging forms that can become very original interior decorations. Different species of the Tillandsia genus can reach different target sizes and various forms. The difference can also be seen in the color of their stiff leaves and flowers. However, they all have one thing in common - they are very original and interesting not only because of the way they function as plants without roots, but also because of their beauty and versatility in home arrangements.
